“Liberal Democracy” of Western Countries Is Dictatorial System for Tiny Handful of Capitalist Class

(Courtest of Rodong Sinmun)

Constant economic stagnation, extreme inflation, high unemployment rate, big gap between the rich and the poor, reckless expansion of armaments aimed at the maintenance of hegemony, aggravating social discontent and political crisis–these are all incurable maladies common to the Western capitalist countries.

The present deterioration of all crises in the Western capitalist countries is an inevitable consequence of the reactionary policies violating the right to existence and aspiration for independence of the absolute majority of the working masses.

The Western capitalist forces are getting ever more vicious in their desperate moves to sustain the destiny of reactionary society.

“Liberal democracy” is a reactionary ruling means a tiny handful of the capitalist class devised in an attempt to shackle the absolute majority of the working masses to the chains of capital and pursue exploitation and plunder.

It is the requirement and aspiration of the working masses to live in an independent and creative way, free from the subordination and oppression of the exploitative class.

The thirst of the working masses for rightful dignity as a human and liberty from exploitation and inhuman restriction began as the slaves’ resistance against the slaveholders’ barbarous maltreatment in the slave society, and then grew into the farmers’ struggle to liberate themselves from the exploitation, oppression and restriction of landlords and feudal lords in the feudal society.

The bourgeoisie who emerged as the ruling class with the establishment of the capitalist system have trumpeted private ownership of production means and “liberty” of economic activities to defend their predatory interests while mercilessly trampling down the demands of the working class under exploitation for genuine liberty by means of high-handedness and violence.

Democracy, the outcome of the long-standing historic struggle of the working masses, also has nothing to do with the minority of exploitative class.

In the period of the bourgeois revolution, the capitalist class cheated the working masses in an attempt to get hold of the government behind the deceitful signboard of “democracy”. After they seized power, they established and consolidated the political system and legal system centered on capital, checking the masses’ participation in political affairs.

After the Second World War, capitalism plunged into the overall chaos owing to the growing influence of the socialist force and the strong trend of the national liberation movement in colonial countries.

That’s when the United States and the Western countries began touting “liberal democracy”.

They embellished their ruling system with all the hypocritical phrases like “liberty”, “equality”, “human rights” and “democratic politics” based on the extreme individualism and mammonism.

“Liberal democracy” was spread throughout the capitalist world and was disguised as a ruling principle and system.

The capitalist mouthpieces say that “liberalism” ensures “liberty” of individuals and “democracy” provides the broad masses with participation in political affairs, praising “liberal democracy” as “the most ideal political principle and system”.

Then, who do they mean by “individuals” and “masses”?

They are none other than the small minority of capitalists.

“Liberty” so much advertised in the capitalist society enables the capitalists to subordinate and exploit the working people to their hearts’ content and “democracy” is a ruling system which lets the rich grab power and make the popular masses the slaves of capital.

In fact, the working people can never be free in the capitalists’ world and never dare to take part in political affairs.

Like this, the dictatorship by the tiny handful of capitalists is forced in the capitalist countries under the cloak of “liberal democracy”.

Worse still, the absolute majority of the working people do not have their essential rights provided in economic life under the system of “liberal democracy”.

Whereas the exploitative class monopolize all the production means and indulge themselves in luxurious life at the cost of the working people’s sweat and blood, the absolute majority of the working people without any production means get deprived of the wealth created by their diligent efforts and suffer abject poverty.

The rich get ever richer and the poor ever poorer in the Western capitalist countries.

“Liberal democracy” is a hotbed of social evils infringing upon the essential rights of the working people to existence and plunging them into ruin.

A handful of the privileged class instigates extravagance and dissoluteness among people to artificially instill vile hunger for consumption into them in pursuit of a broader market for their goods in the discrepancy between production and consumption.

In a word, “liberal democracy” is a ruling system which infringes upon the independent rights of the absolute majority of the working people for the exclusive interests of the privileged class.

Herein lie the root cause of the downfall of the Western capitalism and the reason why many countries and nations of the world turn their backs to the Western preaching about “liberal democracy”.
